WPCC Re-Opening Plan

New policies and procedures related to re-opening post COVID-19

Welcome Back WPCC Staff, Families and Students!

Families, we are officially two weeks out from re-opening our doors on July 6th, 2020.  In accordance with NC childcare licensing regulations and as a way of protecting our staff and students, we have developed new policies and procedures that relate to COVID-19. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with these.

**When reading the above new policies and procedures, please make sure to pay attention to our modified operating hours.**
Lastly, a few planning things:

  1. Please take a moment to complete this Google Form. This will help us get an official opening day headcount. https://forms.gle/szLEPVr6jtSUAsHg6

  2. If you have not decided on your child’s start date, please be aware that we are requiring 10 days’ notice before a student begins and a $200 monthly deposit is required to hold your child’s spot. (This money will be credited back to you upon your return)
  3. Your child may not be returning to the classroom that they were in as of March 2020.  There are a few reasons for this:
    1. Coming back to school is going to be a tough transition for everyone.  For some kids, it will be like essentially starting over.  Why add two transitions in a short time frame, when they can just return to the room that they will be in for the next year.
    2. We generally do all of our transitions over the summer and we have lost precious time to complete these transitions.
    3. We are not safely able to do our usual slow, week-long transition where the child spends an increasing amount of time in the new classroom.  This is because, as part of the new regulations, teachers and students must remain with their classroom group at all times to contain any possible spread.
    4. Unfortunately, we do not have enough room in our classrooms to have everyone move into their new classroom immediately upon return.  We will let individual families know which class their child will be in, once we have everyone’s start date via the Google Form listed above.
